Résumé

RÉSUMÉ : Proverbes 27,8 est un passage qui n’a pas encore suffisamment retenu l’attention des exégètes, et ce, bien qu’il ait donné lieu à de nombreuses interprétations parfois contradictoires. Pour comprendre ce proverbe, l’auteur propose sa traduction du texte hébreu et du texte de la Septante et signale les nombreuses divergences entre ces deux textes. Après avoir délimité la péricope à laquelle appartient le proverbe du verset 8, il montre que ce proverbe doit être compris comme un micro-récit autonome et indépendant de son contexte immédiat. Enfin, il propose une analyse philologique, syntaxique et sémantique du texte hébreu de ce proverbe. L’ensemble de cette analyse lui permet de présenter cinq interprétations différentes mais qui ne sont pas mutuellement incompatibles.

ABSTRACT: Proverbs 27,8 is a passage that has not yet received sufficient attention from scholars, despite having given rise to numerous — and at times conflicting — interpretations. To grasp the full meaning of this proverb, the author offers his own translation of both the Hebrew text and the Septuagint, highlighting the many discrepancies between the two versions. He then defines the pericope to which verse 8 belongs, arguing that the proverb should be understood as a self-contained micro-narrative, independent of its immediate context. Finally, through a philological, syntactic, and semantic analysis of the Hebrew text, he presents five distinct, yet complementary, interpretations. This comprehensive approach allows him to propose five interpretations that are different, yet not mutually exclusive.
