About the Journal

The journal Assurances et gestion des risques was founded in 1932 by Gérard Parizeau (1899-1994), who was a professeur the school Hautes études commerciales de Montréal (HEC Montréal). From 1932 to 1935, the journal name was simply « Assurances » and consisted in a four-pager published monthly. The publication officially became a journal in 1935 and was then published four times per year. Gérard Parizeau managed the operations from 1935 to 1988, after which Rémi Moreau became in charge of steering the wheel, which he did from 1988 to 1996. The journal became the property of HEC Montréal, under the govern of Georges Dionne, in 1996. A refereeing committe was put in place in 1997 and the journal started accepting refereed academic publications. In 2015, the Journal became property of Université Laval and managed by the department of Finance, insurance and real estate the university's Faculty of Business Administration.
