The “stranger’s position” links the experience of displacement, the renewal of the gaze and critical thinking. As the worlds come closer together, the anthropologist is now faced with two options. They can use their own tools to “play the stranger at home,” or co-produce knowledge where each is the familiar stranger of the other.
