Subject matters, methodology, and theoretical perspectives differ less and less between sociology and anthropology. It is rather under the ethical lens that each discipline can better be distinguished. Two values are at the centre of their concerns, analyses, and debates. Anthropology focuses on the respect of difference and alterity whereas sociology leans on autonomy.
