Abstract

In Burkina Faso, the Pentecostal movement is defined by the presence of "prieurs". These individuals within the Pentecostal community provide prayer, healing, exorcisms, and spiritual guidance. These offerings are central to the practice of prayer and the development of local Pentecostalism. This article explores the experiences of a particular "prieur", examining his practice, structure, and essence. It also considers the circumstances under which this phenomenon occurs. The evidence used in this article comes from an analysis of existing literature and field research.
