Tenir et témoigner : la poésie de Paul Celan

Abstract

Living in a destitute time, caught between these manifestations of collective madness that were Nazism and Stalinism, shaken by his own mental condition, the poet Paul Celan wants to make heard a voice that stands «against» (gegen). In order to make this opposition felt without quarter, he takes it to the very heart of the German language and poetic art. We will try to hear and to make heard the singularity of this voice in its expressions that are both close and distant. It is a walk with the poet in the paths of his poems, a kind of brotherly and respectful accompaniment.
