Abstract

After illustrating the concept of integral ecology on the basis of Belgian philosopher Charlotte Luyckx’s strata theory, this paper aims to revisit the idea of salvation from a theological perspective by drawing on three sermons by Paul Tillich. Through these, we will see that Tillichian soteriology is characterized by three signs of the new creation: reconciliation, reunion with the foundation of our being and resurrection. Finally, by deriving practical conclusions from this theological insight, we come to understand the significance of engaging in the kairoi of our time, notably that of integral ecology.
