Séductrice ou meurtrière ? La femme de Proverbes 7 lue sous un autre angle

Abstract

In this paper, the author adresses the dynamic between the young man and the other woman in Prov 7, by focusing on the violence that characterizes it. By the analysis of the other woman's actions, the author questions the frequent interpretation of this character as a seductress. Guided by many contemporary feminist theories, the author suggests to read Prov 7 rather as a story in which an assault is taking place, a story which depicts a subversion of gender roles.
