Abstract

This article presents some links between the process of sanctification of P. Tillich and important elements of the psychoanalysis of C.G. Jung. The posture adopted, different from that of J. Dourley, is Tillichian. The emphasis is on the difference between the psychologist's approach to God, which comes from emerging symbols of the psyche, and that of the theologian, for whom God as transcendent foundation of Being is what the religious symbols aim for.
