Anthropologies of bureaucracy provide a specific analysis of this phenomenon, studying the social disturbances that its opacity generates. They break out of abstract analytical impasses and conservative anti-bureaucratic rhetoric by establishing a methodological relationship that situates bureaucracy as an object of inquiry.
